Went out and bought the TV for my MAME cabinet yesterday. A 24" Apex for $200 incl tax. Just your basic tv...doesn't need a flat screen or fancy features, since it'll just be used for playing old arcade games. Also, the keyboard encoder (the things that translate the button presses into keystrokes the computer can recognize) and trackball encoder (makes the computer think a trackball is just a normal mouse) shipped from England yesterday. All the buttons and joysticks should ship in the next day or two from the US. Once all that arrives, just need to buy the wood and get cutting! I can't believe how excited I am about all this. I'm sure once its actually built, after a while the novelty will fade, but fuck it will be cool. Plus, my nephew loves playing all the old games on my computer, so it'll be fun for him to play them with the real joysticks and buttons.
