As expected, the NHLPA rejected the league's counter-proposal. Now they seem to be at a stalemate. The NHL swears it won't budge from a salary cap and the NHLPA swears they'll never accept one. So it seems there will more than likely be no hockey this year. Really though, I don't see how the players figure they can win this one. The reality is, there will be a salary cap, whether the players agree to it or the league declares an impasse and puts a cap in place with replacement players. The cap hasn't really hurt NFL players has it? The stars get their multi-millions and huge bonuses and everything, and the journeymen get what's due to them too. Why do hockey players think they are so different?
