Promising Lockout News from The Globe And Mail
For some reason it feels more reassuring to be reading this coming from The Globe than that Eklund guy or some other random dude on the internet. Please oh please let this lockout end soon. Basically they've agreed on the cap amounts, etc. and are now working on other issues.
The nagging question behind all this is why couldn't they have negotiated as much as they are now, last summer? Whenever they come to a deal both sides (though the players imparticularly) will have to come up with some reasoning why it took scrapping a whole season and months worth of inaction and butting of heads to come up with something. Really, the salary cap was never in doubt, it was just the amount. Why the players waited until February to even hint they'd accept a cap, instead of accepting the inevitable and spending all the preceding time arguing over the actual amount is beyond me. Whatever, hockey's return is within sight and I couldn't be happier.
poor pathetic me
me, blabbering on about whatever I want since there's no one to stop me
