I often sit around and moan to myself how lonely I am and how I can't get a girl and all that, but the other night it kind of hit me: most of my friends are in similar situations. A quick synopsis:

- Guy 1 married his first girlfriend, spent thousands of dollars getting her in the country, got divorced and spent thousands more getting rid of her. Now he's in his 2nd relationship and already living with this girl, bought a house with her and is planning on marriage
- Guy 2 has had one relationship as far as I know, moved out with her then caught her cheating on him, moved back home and has been there ever since
- Guy 3 hasn't had a girlfriend in years, and now spends 99% of his time either working or sitting at home watching movies and smoking pot
- Guy 4 has gone through a few internet romances, but apparently still pines for the girl that dumped him a few years ago
- Guy 5 lived with a girl, had a kid with her, then things fell apart he's back at home and she barely lets him see his daughter

Out of the maybe 10 people I would consider my friends, at least 5 have non-existant or bad luck at love. I don't think any of these are as bad as my horribly pathetic life, but when I think of things in these terms it doesn't seem as bad.

At my office I am the ONLY one who is not married or in a long term relationship. Among my friends and family, the situation is the same. In fact, my family's and friend's friends are all married or seriously dating someone, so there isn't even a hope of being set up with someone.

I've almost given up on finding a boyfriend. I'm trying to refocus my energies. It's all about acquiring wealth. Maybe I should try something else besides the lottery though...
