All in all I though the Leafs played a pretty good opening game last night. Controlled the game for stretches, got physical with the Sens, and if it weren't for Dany Fucking Heatley and some questionable goaltending by Raycroft could have easily won it. Yet what is the cover of the Sun today?


In what world were they stumbling? They were leading with 5 minutes to go in the third for Christ's sakes. Had it been another 8-2 loss or whatever, fine, but they lost in overtime! They still got a point. Though I guess this headline gets a better reaction out of people, sells paper and whatnot. Hell, its got me talking at least.

But its this kind of thing that drives me nuts about the Toronto media and many Leafs fans. The fairweather types who maybe sort-of watched the game last night will see this as an affirmation of their idea that the Leafs are a shit team who are going nowhere. I'm sure every team has their fair share of bandwagon fans, but to me at least Toronto seems to be overloaded with them. Hell, I know a bunch of them and they drive me nuts.
