Just in case anyone wasn't paying attention, in their last two games the Miami Dolphins have beaten both participants in last year's AFC Championship game (yes, I know the Pats aren't exactly the same this year but who cares). They are 2-2. 2 wins...twice as many as they had all last year. Yes. Holy shit.
I'm not totally delusional and claiming that they are going to win the division or make the playoffs or anything (though that would be especially nice) but it is at least refreshing to see things at least seeming to be heading in the right direction. The offense with the whole wildcat formation and the calm steady direction of Chad Pennington don't suddenly cause overwhelming thoughts of doom whenever they get the ball. Joey Porter seems to be backing up his non-stop trash talking on the field, and the defense in general is playing pretty damn well. The 4th an 1 stop near the goal line yesterday was a thing of beauty.
To be sure, they still have a ways to go. But for the first time in a while, after Dave Wannstedt's reign of mediocrity, after the Nick Satan bullshit, after the Cam Cameron calamity, I think we Dolphin's fans can say without any sort of embellishment that things are definitely looking up.
