I think my nephew truly enjoyed the Leafs game Saturday night. I don't think its going to spur him into being a die hard Leafs fan, but he seemed to really enjoy the experience. Never once seemed bored or disinterested in the game which was good. Probably helped that it was a decent game, with the Leafs coming out on top. He particularly seemed to enjoy the 'Flyers Suck' chants, but really, who wouldn't? He also quite enjoyed the fight Andre Deveaux had, it was quite a good one.
It is amazing though how quiet the Air Canada Centre is outside of the occasional 'Go Leafs Go', 'ooohing' after a close shot, booing a penalty or cheering a goal. There just doesn't seem to be that much atmosphere. I wouldn't think there's anything particularly intimidating or anything for visiting teams to come in and play at the ACC. Of course, maybe that's a product of the team being mediocre. But a Saturday night game against the Flyers should stir up some emotion shouldn't it? And I'm not just talking about the 'suits' down in the platinums either, its pretty quite up in the greens and purples too. Wonder why that is?
