Well, the dream is over. It was one hell of a good run, but the Dolphins dream season is over. Really, I'm not surprised. Baltimore was probably the better team overall and I kept telling myself over and over that they were going to lose, but I still held out hope that they could pull it off. But nope, 4 interceptions and 1 fumble later and the Dolphins are out of the playoffs.
Its hard to say how it went so horribly wrong. Was it all Pennington? Some of those picks were brutal, but then again he was under pressure most of the time. They couldn't run the ball for shit. The defense played pretty damn well though. They held Baltimore's offense in check for most of the game. It was just some bad, ill timed interceptions that really sealed the deal.
Oh well. This season way surpassed pretty much every expectation anyone could have possibly ever had. Can they continue the success next year, playing a first place team's schedule instead of this year's fourth place schedule? I don't know. It will be pretty damn tough, that's for sure. I do know that they really need to go out and find some sort of playmaker on offense. Ted Ginn might be really good one day, and Devon Bess and Greg Camarillo were good receivers, but they really need that one guy who can single-handedly make a difference.
I don't really know who to cheer for now. I think I'd really like to see a Giants-Steelers Super Bowl, that would be pretty epic. But other than that, its kind of a depressing time. The Leafs (and hockey in general) don't really seem to be doing it for me this year, so really, I have nothing to cheer for until next September.
poor pathetic me
me, blabbering on about whatever I want since there's no one to stop me
