I like music, and I like going to see live music. But when I say live music, I mean specifically going to a club or other venue to see a show. The kind of live music I can't stand is going to a bar to have a couple of beers and being deafened by some guys playing bad covers of good music. Maybe I'm just getting old or maybe I'm no fun, but if I'm going out to a bar for drinks, I'm there to socialize and its hard to do that when you can't hear what the hell someone 2 feet away from you is saying. Do people actually enjoy that?

Another bar annoyance from my travels this weekend: why do some strip clubs insist on having bathroom attendant guys? Is it supposed to make your place seem classier or something? Because I find it insanely annoying. I can turn the faucet on, get my own soap, and get my own paper towels thanks. It just makes going to the bathroom awkward. Either you don't wash your hands, you get forced into tipping the guy, or you let him do his thing and just walk away and hope you don't have to take a leak again. I could maybe understand having these types of guys in a high class restaurant or something. But this is a kind-of dingy strip club in suburban Toronto, not the Ritz.

Not feeling all that great today. My friend does shift work, 7 days on, 6 days off, 7 days on, 5 days off, etc. So on his days off, I think he gets bored and wants to go out drinking and calls on me. Sure I could say no, but who are we kidding, I practically never ever turn down a chance to drink. Anyways, first we went to a bar near my friend's house and had a bunch of beers. Then our waitress left and supposedly some other waitress was going to take over serving us, but she never came around so we left that bar for another one down the street.

The second bar was pretty busy, so we couldn't get a table and had to get served at the bar which was kind of shitty, but oh well. While we were there, my friend suggested we head over to the nudie bar. Of course I couldn't say no, despite the fact that it was already almost midnight and I had to get up for work at 6:30am. One of the guys we were with bailed out, but the rest of us headed over to the Palace.

It was so-so. It was pretty dead in there, though I guess that shouldn't have really been surprising for a Wednesday night. There were maybe 10 girls working, and none of them were overly spectacular. I ended up getting a lap dance from a pretty cute blonde, though I don't know why I bothered. The Palace still has their ridiculous $23 'VIP' area entrance fee which is pretty bullshit. The dance was ok, nothing special and not really worth the $63 I ended up spending.

I'm pretty sure we stayed until closing, though I don't actually remember leaving or getting home or going to bed. Amazingly though, I feel pretty decent today. Maybe I'm still drunk?
